Sunglade Jewelry was started in late 2024 by Christy Pierce who has had a lifelong passion for jewelry making. Her designs are filled with vibrancy and life as she hopes to lift the spirits of those who receive her pieces. She draws inspiration from nature and a little bit of Elven lore.
Here at Sunglade Jewelry, it is our mission inspire joy in our customers through beautifully handcrafted jewelry, in all seasons of life. We believe that jewelry has the power to brighten your day and boost your confidence, knowing you are wearing something of value that you love. We know that jewelry carries meaning, whether it is a gift for someone special or expresses something about you personally.
We take the quality of our pieces seriously, so they can be passed down for generations. All our pieces are handmade with attention to detail for durability. We use solid copper or sterling silver and hand-picked semiprecious gemstones. It is our goal, as Sunglade Jewelry grows, to offer gold-filled pieces as well.

How Sunglade Jewelry Got its Name
I spent many days brainstorming to find the perfect name for my business. I wanted a name that referenced nature, and I wanted it to encapsulate the heart of my business, which is to lift peoples’ spirits and inspire hope and joy.
As I have battled chronic illness over the years, jewelry making has truly been a source of inspiration and light in my life. It is an outlet for me to use my creativity and make something beautiful that will last and bring joy to someone else despite my own difficulties. I wanted the name also to reflect what jewelry making has represented in my life.
In my research, I stumbled across the word sunglade, which means “a glade in a forest with a lot of sunshine coming in” or “an area of sunlight on a body of water”, like the sparkling waters of a lively brook in full sunshine. You can see a forest sunglade in this picture here. “Sunglade” could not better encapsulate everything I was hoping for in a name.

What We Believe about Gemstones
Here at Sunglade Jewelry, we love finding beautiful, unique gemstones and incorporating them into our pieces. We recognize that much of the conversation around gemstones emphasizes their spiritual properties and their ability to give off energies to people, such as reducing anxiety, attracting wealth, creating positivity, etc.
We do not believe that crystals and gemstones have those properties in and of themselves. Here, we will not try to sell you jewelry on the basis that it will impart powers/energies to you or create a specific outcome in your life.
We do believe that the beauty of nature has the ability generally to lift one’s spirit and inspire thankfulness and joy. Gemstones are one of the many beauties of nature that we can enjoy and make into art. Every piece of jewelry we make is an act of thankfulness and worship to the Creator of this world, who we believe created gemstones for our enjoyment.
